About Us

MatCare is an innovative start-up that is engaged in the development of smart and environmentally friendly innovative materials focus on medical/pharma fields looking at innovative solutions for important unmet needs.

We invest in R&D on innovative materials and digital technology for drug therapy, in order to make a contribution to the great global challenges that are still to be met (such as adherence to therapy, drug copies, education in primary and secondary prevention). We focus on the sustainability of our planet through the scouting and adding recyclable materials for primary and secondary pharmaceutical packaging.

We aim to be a “laboratory” that prototypes business models in innovative ways.

But what models?

It’s TRL3 prototypes, or rather “experimental proof of concept”. The purpose of TRL 3 is to verify technology and concept work, starting from research and development on materials, components or processes that have are not integrated yet and to finalize with validation and patent. We innovate the state of the art of packaging, creating products, services, and experiences to support the pharma world. Inspired by the paradigms of inbound open innovation, we are committed to major global challenges by proposing a platform of sustainable and fully recyclable packages, skilfully combining digital solutions, eco-design, and smart packaging to improve the overall performance of the supply chain.

/ Care

Care and attention for people and environment through digital platforms and innovation, in order to improve people’s lives in a smart, sustainable and digital way.

Vision

We are an innovation lab aimed to inspire new business models. We invest in R&D on materials and digital technology to support medical therapy, focusing on sustainable and recyclable materials, with digital platforms designed to improve people’s lives in a smart and sustainable way.

Mission

We develop TRL3 prototypes, that is “experimental proof of concept”, creating new solutions in the state of the art of packaging and making products, services and experiences to support the pharma world. We address major global challenges – adherence of therapy, drug copy issue, need in primary and secondary prevention and sustainability – by skilfully using digital solutions, eco-design, and smart packaging to improve the overall performance of the supply chain.

Sustainability

The challenge of making a contribution to our planet in terms of sustainability is impacting also concerns the pharmaceutical sector in a significant way, as it produces large quantities of wasted materials every year. We are therefore committed to use new green and high-performance materials. In particular, after a long process of research and development with a mixed ‘in-house’ and open-innovation model, we can identify materials that ensure high environmental sustainability with recyclable components and guaranteed performance with respect to the quality and safety standards required by the pharmaceutical sector.
